I am Nina Still, a furniture designer and maker who loves nothing more than to get covered in ink and sawdust to bring you perfectly designed and crafted items.
Originally I started my design education at the University of Lincoln where I did a BA(Hons) degree in Product Design. While there I was told that we were most likely to become designers who get their products made in China, and that just did not sit right with me.
After I graduated I decided to focus on getting my hands dirty, not just spending my whole life sat in-front of a computer screen. That is when I enrolled at the renowned Chippendale International School of Furniture. I learnt not only traditional cabinet making skills, but also carving, gilding, veneering and the important lesson that you can never have too many clamps.
Once I left Chippendale I moved onto setting up Maria V Design, which was named after my grandmothers who both come from woodworking families. From the heart of Grimsby I now spend my days designing and handcrafting bespoke and limited edition items for you to enjoy. Maria V Design is also a proud member of the Fine Furniture Guild.
Apart from designing and making, I am also a keen artist who has entered a few art and graphics competitions. As a result of these competitions I have some of my pieces showing at Lincoln Library and Lincoln Cathedral.
